Great work by the students! I especially like the soap bubbles one. Even older adults can enjoy a little bubble play (although the grandmother is probably doing dishes). Have a great time at the HSA meeting!

Robyn, kudos to the student writers. I especially enjoyed Cole's spring cleaning poem because it opened my nostrils to the distinct odor he explains. Today, my language arts association is celebrating student authorship and I am introducing the main speaker who shares the limelight with her two young daughter writers. Enjoy your conference.

Appreciations for your previous spotlites here of some of the honored Haiku poets. I am pulled to them all but personally, the boardwalk & salty idea.

How wonderful to learn more about this international competition. I followed the link to the school in NYC.

I may know a poetry teacher disguised as a 2nd grade teacher who may be able to encourage her students toward this here in FL, if 2nd grade is eligible.

Happy Haiku Trails in Florida this weekend.
And thank you for reminding me that I am overdue for a visit ever to the J.K. house. Robyn you are phenomenal. Here I am in the same state (though a long, tall drink of a state) & haven't stepped on that porch. Hope you'll share some images/thoughts in a future post.)

The LILAC Author Luncheon Workshop was great. The 1st place winners read their pieces orally. The 10th grade student's poem was wonderful. She said that she would send me a poem and photo for Spring's Symphony. I hope time will allow you to participate.

Congratulations to all these fine poets! I shared these haiku with my 8th grader and she wants to enter next year! She thought that haiku had to be 5-7-5, so this was a new notion for her.
