Poetry Retreat, coordinated by yours truly. I can't wait! Folks from five states will gather to "dive into poetry" all weekend in the north Georgia mountains. I've had fun with the nametags. Hello to rose
and vines of green,
to lettuce leaves -
oh, hello beans!

splashing
sunshine
on frosty squares
of ice
(from "Firefly" - saw the first ones last night, by the way)
Sliver of moon
slice of a star.
Rhinestone in
a jelly jar.

And the sun comes up,
and the sun goes down,
and children moon-skip
all around
and, finally, since we could use some rain around here, from "Summer Storm's Plea" (SHARING THE SEASONS by Lee Bennett Hopkins, Margaret McElderry Books, 2010):
Let this downpour be good,
proud as a prank, one wild raid
of rain that drums my name:
