Greetings in this new year! If you are a children's writer or illustrator living in or near Georgia and are looking to jumpstart your work - and you could use some unbeatable networking and camraderie - check out the upcoming SCBWI Southern Breeze Springmingle conference in Atlanta, Feb. 26 - 28. This year's keynote speaker is Jane Yolen.

This is the conference I organized for three years from 2007-2009; I'm looking forward to attending next month as a regular civilian! The deadline for manuscript submissions for formal critique, and for the early bird registration discount, is this Friday, Jan. 22. (Free, informal group critique sessions will be available at the conference as well.) Even if you don't pre-register this week, you must pre-register.
